A man riding a motor scooter was struck and killed on Grayson Highway near Gwinnett Drive in Lawrenceville, Sunday night.

Lawrenceville detectives say they plan to file vehicular homicide against the Jeep driver.

“I hollered and told him, ‘Hey, you hit this guy and you trying to leave.’ He threw it in reverse, drove through the parking lot and went out the back,” said witness Scott Karl.
The deceased rider, described as a man in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the crash site. The driver of the Jeep who hit the rider stopped briefly and then fled the scene. Police located the Jeep later parked at a residence nearby. The driver was found and arrested.
