Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver after a teenage pedestrian was killed and another injured on Gordon Highway late Saturday.

Still no arrest in fatal hit-and-run

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office says they found the car involved in a deadly 2014 hit and run on Gordon Highway.

Arrest made in 2014 deadly accident

Deputies arrested 24-year old Jeffery Khirell Hardy on Tuesday, charging Hardy with homicide by vehicle in a hit and run.

Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver after a teenage pedestrian was killed and another injured on Gordon Highway late Saturday. Deputy Coroner Kenneth Boose pronounced Zykeith Harris, 14, of Augusta, dead early today. An autopsy will be performed in Atlanta, he said. The second teen was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center with serious injuries. The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in identifying the vehicle that struck the two youths on the 1400 block of Gordon Highway near Dan Bowles Road after 11 p.m. Saturday.

That dude was like my lil brother man dude used to tell me everything.Cause he hadn't been long came by my ma hse.but things was all good he spoke and he said I bout go home bruh....I said ok Dude...To me who ever the driver was of that vehicle they just need to be Charge for life..Zy was a great kid a kid that looked up to me as a brother if he needed something he would call...Zy You will never be forgotten nomatter what you and I will forever remain as homies/Brothers.....

Zykeith was a precious little boy that I knew 12 years ago. I have not seen an obituary for this child and do not know how to contact his family for a memorial contribution. From what I have seen on this page, he grew into a fine young man. Such a tragic loss. He was such a loving little boy and every time I went to his house, he would pick up his diaper bag and try to go home with me. I have not seen him since he was a toddler but I will never forget him. To him, I was Nonnie, just like my grandchildren. My prayers are with his family.

We was the 1st and you could say the only people the scene. I called 911 @11:37pm, while I was on the phone my friend notice the other young man on the opposite side of the road. While we were trying to wave down cars, two other cars almost hit us and they hit the young man again. So I ran to by car and backed it up by the young man body. Then another car came almost hitting my car. Two other cars stopped by no one tried to help. That could have you child laying there life less. It sad how we can’t even help each other in times of need, but can question why they were out walking. I thank God that we was able to save the other young man. That was my best friend he was like a little brother to me it seems as if your gone but never forgotten brother never forgotten!!!
