One killed late Monday in crash on Interstate 95 just north of Glynn-Camden county line
BRUNSWICK | A member of a vacationing South Carolina family was killed and five others injured late Monday in a single vehicle crash on Interstate 95 just north of Glynn-Camden county line, the Georgia State Patrol said.
The family of six from Duncan, S.C., was traveling south on I-95 in a 2004 Ford Expedition when a tire blew out just before 6 p.m. causing the vehicle to overturn, Pfc. Kevin Ziegler of the Georgia State Patrol said.
Lyndon Anderson, 17, was killed, one family member was air lifted to UF Health Jacksonville and the other four family members were taken to Southeast Georgia Health System's Brunswick hospital, Ziegler said.
The victim who was taken to UF Health was reported in fair condition, he said.
The family was traveling to Orlando on vacation, Ziegler said.
The Glynn County police assisted the Georgia State Patrol during a brief closure of the southbound lanes for investigation.
