A man is dead after a hit-and-run Thursday night just outside of downtown Macon. It happened in the 1000 block of Riverside Drive just before 8:30.
Macon woman arrested for hit-and-run pedestrian death on Riverside Drive
Buckner allegedly ran over Evans at about 8:30 p.m. Sept. 7 when he tried to cross the street at the 1000 block of Riverside near the Spring Street intersection leading to Gray Highway, according to the statement.

She’s charged with driving while license suspended or revoked, hit and run resulting in serious injury or death, hit and run duty to stop at or return to scene of accident, homicide by vehicle and probation violation in connection with the death of 67-year-old Freddie Evans.
