Two injured in 4-vehicle crash on Hwy 21 in Effingham Co.

Hwy 21 southbound was shut down for the exception of the right turn lane, and traffic had to be detoured onto Old Augusta Road South.

“One of the witnesses … stated he observed (Anderson’s car) make contact with the guardrail on Georgia 21 northbound, just north of Rincon Elementary School,” the report states. “All the other witnesses listed on this report stated they observed (the car) traveling northbound in the southbound travel lanes.” 
A car was driving north on Hwy 21 shortly after 8 a.m. when it crossed over the median into the southbound lanes and hit an SUV head-on. The SUV then hit another car, causing a chain reaction involving two other cars. One person involved was airlifted to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah and another was transported to a hospital by ambulance.
