Alma man dies in crash in which car went airborne for 107 feet, state patrol says(link is external)

In trying to get back onto the roadway, Nails over-corrected and lost control of the vehicle, which went began rotating and went across two traffic lanes before going into the ditch, the state patrol said. Upon hitting the ditch embankment, the Impala went airborne for 107 feet and nearly 150 feet farther on the ground before stopping, the state patrol said. Nails died at the scene and Leonard was air evacuated to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah.
