Man Killed in Valdosta Moped Accident

VALDOSTA, Ga. -- The Valdosta Police Department says a man is dead following a moped accident Wednesday. According to officers, the accident involving a moped and a pickup truck occurred around 3:30 p.m. VPD says 61-year-old David Butler was driving the moped and was taken to South Georgia Medical Center where he later died from his injuries. Police say the investigation into the accident is ongoing. Augustine Rd.

The investigation revealed the moped David Lee Butler was riding was traveling east along the 1100 block of N. St. The truck pulled into the path of the moped and the two collided on N. St. According to officers, the accident involving a moped and a pickup truck occurred around 3:30 p.m.
