Motorcyclist Robert Pfleger, 56, killed in 3-vehicle crash on Hina Lani Street in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

On Tuesday afternoon, Robert Pfleger of Holualoa was eastbound on Hina Lani Street when a westbound Jeep Cherokee driven by 31-year-old Anna Veverko of Kailua-Kona turned left and collided head-on with Pfleger's motorcycle. The Jeep then collided with a truck that was northbound on Kamanu Street. Pfleger, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Kona Community Hospital, where he died shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday. The occupants of the truck and the jeep were not injured. Veverko was arrested on suspicion of negligent homicide and later released as the investigation continues.
