Paramedics and sheriff's deputies responded to an ATV crash about five miles into the Boise foothills Thursday morning. The crash happened just before 7:15 a.m. near the Hulls Gulch area. Authorities say an adult male was riding an ATV on a marked trail when he attempted to drive around a locked gate just off Sunset Peak Road, known by many as the 8th Street extension. The man rolled down a steep embankment and sustained non-life threatening injuries. He was able to call 911 and guide rescuers to his location. Paramedic field supervisor Tina Lukehart said another man riding an offroad motorcycle attempted to aid the injured man. Ada County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to secure at least one firearm the ATV rider had been carrying.
