Dave Briggs, 36, seriously injured, transported to hospital, after his motorcycle crashes into a roadway barrier at high speed, on Chinden Boulevard in Meridian.

A 36-year-old Meridian man was hospitalized after reportedly losing control of his motorcycle and crashing late Wednesday night.

Dave Briggs, 36, of Meridian was driving on Chinden Boulevard near McDermott Road in Meridian when he lost control of his 2004 Buell motorcycle, hit a roadway barrier, and was ejected, according to Idaho State Police.

An ISP trooper who witnessed the crash reports Briggs was traveling 66 mph in a 45 mph speed zone.

Briggs was taken to St. Lukes Regional Medical Center in Boise with unspecified injuries.

The roadway was blocked for approximately 45 minutes. Police continue to investigate.
