Girl dies in rollover on Black Cat Road
The wreck happened at 6:33 a.m. at Black Cat Road and Ridgeback Lane, just south of Amity Road. The Ada County Sheriff's Office says the SUV was headed north on Black Cat when the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled, landing on its roof. The girl, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was thrown from the SUV when it crashed. She died at the scene. Authorities say the victim was under the age of 16, and was not wearing a seatbelt.

The sheriff's office says the vehicle was heading north before the crash when at some point the 24-year-old driver lost control of the Ford Explorer. Witnesses says the driver attempted to steer the vehicle back onto the road before it rolled. Police say 14-year-old Autumn Barnes of Kuna was sitting in the back seat of the vehicle when she was ejected.
