Witnesses told deputies they saw the boys driving the ATV when the driver, a 12-year-old boy, looked over his shoulder, drifted off the right shoulder of the roadway and struck a power pole, the sheriff’s office said. Both boys were thrown from the ATV and landed at the edge of a corn field and irrigation ditch.
