Woodridge man killed, 8 others injured in I-57 crash

A Woodridge man was killed in a rollover crash that left eight others injured on I-57 south of Champaign.Police say a van went off the expressway and flipped several times, landing upside down in a pond Wednesday night near milepost 226.5.Murtaza Rajkotwala died in the crash. Police say his wife was driving and that she's among eight people who suffered injuries.Police aren't sure why she lost control of the van and are continuing to investigate.

Willowbrook man killed in one-vehicle crash on I-57 in Champaign County

Murtuza S. Rajkotwala, 43, was one of nine people in a red 2000 Toyota van that was traveling north in the right lane of I-57 about 7:20 p.m. when the driver lost control and veered right off the road, just south of Champaign, according to state police. Witnesses told police the van barrel-rolled multiple times before landing on its roof in a pond on a farm.
