The accident occurred as a 15-year-old Taylorville girl was driving north on the highway a little after 8 a.m. Her Ford SUV crossed the centerline for some reason, and struck a southbound van head-on that was driven by Scott E. Baxter, 44, of Pontiac, Illinois State police said.
After an injury car accident, take these steps to help the recovery process
When someone has been injured in a car crash, it's hard to know what to do to help. Injured people need appropriate medial treatment, but they also need to have their civil and legal rights protected.
After a serious crash, several steps need to be taken, including dealing with the insurance companies, tracking and documenting lost income from missed work, coordinating medical bill payments, and handling an insurance claim.

The following is a more
The following is a more detailed account of what happened. The driver was a 15 year female (name not listed). Read the article for more information. The Driver of the van, Scott, is a friend of mine who is in critical condition right now and not doing well. At the minimum, I hope the 15 year old will NOT be allowed to get her license until after she turns 21. I alos hope her mother, Lori Thomas, gets into trouble. Evidently, she was not paying attention to the studen driver. Mostly, I pray for the recovery of Scott and the other victims of this avoidable accident.
