Evidence at the scene indicated the Corvette was traveling westbound in the 13000 block of Michael Road when it left the roadway for unknown reasons and rolled over at least once before coming to a stop in a field on the north side of the road, according to police.
Alexis D'Amico, of Grantfork, a junior at Highland High School, was killed in a single-vehicle crash. She was driving the 1994 Chevrolet Corvette at a high rate of speed at about 7:30 p.m. Friday on Michael Road when it left the roadway and rolled before coming to a stop in a field. The car's passenger suffered potentially serious injuries but was at home and expected to make a full recovery.
