Steven Ackmann, 63, was struck and killed by a vehicle in a driveway on Romeo Drive in Kane County, Illinois

The Kane County Sheriff's Office says that an 85-year-old woman, identified as the man's mother, hit 63-year-old Steven Ackmann when her foot slipped off the brake of an SUV and onto the gas while she was adjusting the vehicle in the driveway. Police say it happened 11N200 block of Romeo Drive, just west of Elgin.
