Man, 76, struck by hit-and-run driver has died

A man who was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash on Chicago's Northwest Side Friday night has died.Police say the 76-year-old man was crossing the street near Central and Lawrence Friday night when he was hit and the driver kept going His family said the driver was speeding.They describe the vehicle as a light-colored SUV.

Police are searching for the driver of a light colored SUV involved in a fatal hit-and-run on Chicago’s Northwest Side. The victim, later identified as Carroll Brown, lived in the 4900 block of North Central Avenue. Investigators on Thursday released a photo of the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run. On Dec. 4 at approximately 8:20 p.m., a 76-year-old man walking in the 4800 block of North Central Avenue in Chicago’s Jefferson Park neighborhood was struck, according to police. He died Sunday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, two days after he was struck.

Carroll Brown, of the 4900 block of North Central Avenue, was pronounced dead at 2 a.m. Monday at Lutheran General Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
