An elderly man died Friday night after being hit by an SUV in north suburban Skokie.

Bond Yang, 89, was struck by the vehicle in the 8800 block of North Leclaire Avenue in Skokie, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

According to authorities, the 64-year-old driver hit a tree and then crashed into a store front in the 6200-block of North Pulaski at approximately 1 a.m.
