Driver killed in Long Grove crash

The driver of the Jeep was taken by ambulance to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The driver of the Toyota sustained nonlife threatening injuries, sheriff's police said. According to Lake County Sheriff's police, the crash occurred about 7:30 p.m. when a Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling northbound on Route 53 near Old Hick Road crossed into the southbound lanes and collided with a Toyota Camry.

Long Grove accident leaves 1 man dead

According to a release from Detective Chris Covelli of the Lake County Sheriff's Office, Yuri Cipurko, 56, of Long Grove, was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee north on Illinois Route 53 near Old Hicks Road when his health began to fail. The incident occured just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Covelli said.
