Bicyclist struck, killed in Oak Brook

A bicyclist from Lombard was struck and killed Sunday evening when he apparently rode into the intersection against the light at Route 83 and 16th Street in Oak Brook and was struck by a car driven by a Westmont man, authorities said. The Felony Investigative Assistance Team was contacted and responded to the scene to assist the Oak Brook Police Department and conduct a crash reconstruction and investigation. Police identified the bicyclist only as a man in his 40s.

The victim was identified as Pedro Jimenez, 43, of Lombard, according to the DuPage County Coroner's Office. The man was struck by a vehicle by a vehicle at Illinois Route 83 and 16th Street. Police said the incident was an accident and do not suspect foul play.
