Police: 1 Dead, 3 Injured In Romeoville Crash Involving Pace Bus.
One person was killed and three others were hurt in a head-on crash involving a Pace bus Wednesday morning in southwest suburban Romeoville, police said.
The three-vehicle crash involving two cars and a Pace bus happened about 9:10 a.m. at Renwick Road and Rankin Drive, police and fire officials said.
A Kia Rio traveling eastbound on Renwick Road crossed into the westbound lanes and hit the Pace Bus head-on, Romeoville police said in a release. The Kia then hit a Ford Fusion.
One of the drivers, later identified as Ahmad A. Bader, 67 had to be extricated from a vehicle, and was taken in serious condition to Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, A Lockport Township Fire Protection District Battalion Chief said.
That person, who had been driving the Kia, was later pronounced dead at the hospital, police said. The driver’s identity was not released Wednesday afternoon.
Three other people — another driver, the driver of the Pace bus and a passenger from the Pace bus — were also hospitalized at Saint Joseph’s in good condition. All were treated and released, police said.
Romeoville police are investigating the cause of the crash.
