Motorcyclist Airlifted to Hospital, Woodstock Man Charged With DUI Following Crash
A preliminary investigation shows the crash occurred when a 2006 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Robert Harney of Woodstock, was traveling south on Route 47, north of Hercules Road in unincorporated Woodstock, at 12:26 p.m. Harney failed to reduce his speed and hit the back of a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle, which was driven by the Hoffman Estates man, according to a McHenry County Sheriff’s Office press release.
Since motorcycle crashes often end in serious injuries, victims need immediate help
Motorcycle accidents are more likely to end in serious injuries or death for the motorcyclist, since the rider is not protected from the force of a collision. When a motorcycle accident happens, the injured rider needs immediate, appropriate medical care, the accident needs to be investigated, and the insurance companies need to be informed.
When a motorcycle crash is caused by negligence, additional steps need to be taken to protect the legal rights of the injured motorcyclist or the family members of someone killed in a motorcycle crash. Go here to learn more about motorcycle accidents and claims.
