66-year-old woman killed, 68-year-old man, injured, taken to hospital, after the head-on collision of a pickup and a car, driven by Susan A. Bedenk, 56, who was arrested for DUI, at the intersection of U.S. 56 and Brisbin Road near Yorkville.

A 66-year-old Joliet woman was killed in a head-on collision in Kendall County on Monday.

State police said Tuesday that they could not release the name of the woman killed in the accident.

But the driver of the other vehicle, Susan A. Bedenk, 56, of Serena was charged with driving under the influence, police said.

The accident happened at 2:51 p.m. at U.S. Route 52 and Brisbin Road.

Bedenk was driving a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro. Her car collided with a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado.

The woman killed in the accident was a passenger in the Silverado. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, police said.

Both the driver of the Silverado, a 68-year-old man who was not named, and Bedenk were taken to area hospitals, police said.
