Galesburg teen bicyclist killed in crash with SUV near Lake Bracken in Knox County

The teen was bicycling side-by-side with another bicyclist, traveling westbound on Knox Highway 26, when the SUV '€“ driven by a 42-year-old man from Tinley Park, Illinois '€“ approached them from behind at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015. '€œThe (SUV) driver and witnesses reported that, as the SUV moved over to pass the bicyclists, the bicyclist involved swerved suddenly to the left, into the path of the SUV,'€ said a statement from the Knox County Sheriff'€™s Office.  '€œThe SUV swerved to avoid the bicyclist, but did crash into the bicyclist.'€

Joe went straight to Galesburg Cottage Hospital where Galesburg Hospitals’ Ambulance Service had taken his son. By the time Joe arrived, Wyatt had been pronounced dead.

I was a goood friend of wyatt. I miss him like crazy ... this accident is tragic... I would do anything to get him back..
