Dean W. Shippert, 89, killed and 5 others, including 3 children, injured in wreck at Illinois Route 38 and Sink Hollow Road in Dixon, Illinois

A Dixon, Illinois man died after crashing with another vehicle in an intersection. The crash was reported shortly after 10:20 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015, according to a statement from Chief Dan Langloss with the Dixon Police Department. Driving a 2007 GMC Yukon, 89-year-old Dean W. Shippert was headed eastbound on Illinois Route 38 when he made a left turn onto Sink Hollow Road, according to the statement.  A 2005 Chevy Suburban, driven by a 31-year-old man from Ashton, Illinois, was headed westbound on the roadway when the two collided in the intersection.
