Rockford bicyclist dies after hit-and-run on Saturday
The hit-and-run occurred in the 3100 block of North Central Avenue. Meegan and her husband had stopped to check mail at their mailbox when she was struck by a vehicle from behind. The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office said the bicyclist was traveling northbound on Central. The vehicle also was headed northbound and left the scene of the accident.
