The initial investigation shows that a car was heading southbound in the northbound lanes between mile marker 24 and 25, Stone said. A vehicle going north saw the car and swerved out of the way, but a pickup truck heading north hit the southbound car head-on.

Shortly after 2:30 a.m., a Ford Taurus was southbound in the northbound lanes on Interstate 469, near Maysville Road, when it hit a pickup truck head on, the Allen County Sheriff's Department said.
