Plane crashes near Purdue golf course, kills two local residents

On Sunday, the Tippecanoe County coroner’s office identified the two local residents who died in a plane crash Saturday morning on the outskirts of Purdue’s campus. Dustin L. Walters, 22 of Lafayette, piloted the 1975 Piper Arrow four-seat aircraft with Tiesa L. Knoth, 34 of West Lafayette, when it crashed at about 5:40 a.m. into McCormick Woods.
