Deputies said Luke Zimmerman, 30, of Nappanee was backing a 2007 International semi and trailer into a drive in the 26600 block of County Road 46 when a 1996 Ford Ranger, driven by Paul S. Atkins, 61, of Bremen, crashed into the trailer. Atkins was taken to Memorial Hospital of South Bend for treatment of a broken left arm, fractured spine and fractured sternum. Zimmerman was not injured.
