Police find crash but call victim's death homicide

Police found Byers' car had crashed into some trees after driving through a cornfield about a mile away. But investigators say his death wasn't a result of the crash and they're investigating the death as a homicide.

What started as a car crash is now a murder investigation in Indiana. State police responding to reports of a crash near Elnora found 40-year-old Aaron Michael Byersman lying along a cornfield. Byers was pronounced dead at the scene. Byers' pickup truck was found nearby; There is still no word on why they believe foul play was involved but they've now opened a homicide investigation.
Byers was found lying dead along a cornfield about a mile away from the wreckage of his car. Earlier, there were reports of an injured man walking along the road which was assumed to be Byers.
