Police Identify Man Killed by Train

FAIRFIELD, Ia. - The man, who was struck by a train and killed, has now been identified. The Post inquired whether Fairfield's quiet zone could have been a factor in the incident. At 8:59 p.m., November 25, a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train reportedly struck a man. "We don’t believe this had anything to do with the quiet zone," said Jeffereson County Attorney Tim Dille. Fairfield Police officers responded to the scene and have now identified the man as 82-year-old Ronald Edwin Hill, of 2326 Seven Hills Road, Fairfield, Iowa.
