Mason City woman dies in motorcycle accident

A northern Iowa woman is dead after the motorcycle she was a passenger on collided with a car near Mason City. The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department says 63-year-old Margaret Bowe of Mason City was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which happened at the intersection of State Highway 122 and Killdeer Avenue.

Female Motorbike Passenger Dies in an Accident in Mason City

Around 10:00 pm, Saturday night, May 16, a man driving a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling eastbound on 265th Street in Mason City when a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix which was on the southbound lanes of the road, pulled onto the eastbound lanes and crashed into the motorcycle.
Todd Kephart and Margaret Bowe were riding on a motorcycle traveling east on State Highway 122 when a car driven by 17-year-old Timothy Thompson pulled in front of the motorcycle, causing it to collide with the car. Margaret Bowe died at the scene, and Todd Kephart was taken to Mercy-North Iowa for treatment of his injuries. Thompson was not injured, and has not yet been charged.
