Iowa worker shocked when boom struck power line

NEWELL, Iowa (AP) - A 20-year-old worker has been hospitalized after being shocked when a boom struck power lines in northwest Iowa. The Buena Vista County Sheriff's Office says the accident occurred around 4:15 p.m. Copyright 2015 The Associated Press. He was taken to Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake. Sheriff Kory Elston says John Nielsen, of Storm Lake, was on the ground and helping to operate a boom truck when the boom made contact with the lines.
