24-year-old Topeka woman involved in US-40 highway crash west of Lawrence still in critical condition
Four of the five individuals — including three children under the age of 5 — involved Tuesday afternoon in a one-vehicle injury accident two miles west of Lawrence are from Topeka, an official with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said.

The accident at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday on US-40 when a vehicle exited the roadway, rolled multiple times, and crashed through a barbed-wire fence. Ebony Boykins, 24, of Topeka, was ejected from the vehicle, and was airlifted to the University of Kansas Medical Center. She is listed in critical but stable condition. Marcus Love, 25, was also ejected and sustained serious injuries and was transported to Stormont-Vail Health Center where he is listed in fair condition. The three children were treated and released to family members Tuesday night.
