The crash began when one vehicle stopped suddenly, causing a chain reaction crash with eight other vehicles that rear-ended each other. Two people were injured in the crash, including one who was taken to the hospital in critical condition, Lacy said.

One dead in nine-vehicle crash involving dump truck that smashed into line of cars
The dump truck slammed into the back of a car driven by a 17-year-old stopped at the intersection of 115th and Metcalf. The force of the impact pushed the dump truck and first car into a line of seven other vehicles. The teenage motorist was seriously hurt in the crash and later died of their injuries.
