Car accident involving deer injures 11-year-old girl

The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the incident about 8:15 p.m. and responded to the accident south of Highway 24 on Schoeman Road. The vehicle, a 2002 Suzuki KL-7, was southbound on Shoeman Road when it collided with a deer, said Pottawatomie County sheriff Greg Riat in a news release. An 11-year-old girl was taken to a Topeka hospital with unknown injuries. The driver, David Thowe, of rural Belvue, was not injured.
