Iowa woman killed in icy accident on Kansas Turnpike

A 2010 Buick Lucerne was traveling southbound on I-35 when it lost control on the icy road and struck another car that was parked on the right southbound shoulder.

The woman who was killed when her car slid into a truck parked on the shoulder of the Kansas Turnpike late Tuesday morning has been identified as Kristina Masters of Ankeny, Iowa. Masters, 36, was traveling south on the turnpike just before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday when her 2010 Buick Lucerne began to slide on the icy pavement at Milepost 98, about a mile north of the Matfield Green service area, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority report.
