1-month-old baby killed in crash
A 1-month-old baby was killed and three people were injured Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on US-24 highway in Jefferson County, the Kansas Highway Patrol said.

“Despite repeated attempts since Wednesday, no one in our family has control of the funds, nor have we had any further positive communication toward this goal,” the family said in the statement. “We have no other choice at this point but to consider this an attempt at fraud. We will not stand idly by as these individuals attempt to take advantage of a generous, kind-hearted public.”
The fatal crash occurred at 2:56 p.m. on US-24 1 mile west of Perry. when a 2008 Honda Civic was westbound on US-24 when it drove onto to the gravel shoulder, overcorrected, and crossed the center line into the eastbound lanes and hit a pickup. A passenger in the Honda, Kaysein A. Harris, 1-month old, of Lawrence, was transported to Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka, where she was pronounced deceased.
