Two taken to hospital after injury accident
“Officers located a male with significant injuries who was transported to a local hospital,” the police department said in a news release. “While speaking to the male, officers located a crash scene in thick brush and located a second occupant inside a vehicle. Both subjects were taken to a local hospital with critical injuries. No names will be released at this time.”

Officials said the victim, who was the passenger, has been identified as Melisa C. Kendall, 43, of Topeka.
Police said the driver of the vehicle has been identified as David A. James, 37, of Topeka. While James’ injuries were listed as critical on Saturday, no update was given on Tuesday.
