Augustin M. Gonzalez, 36, Noelle Gonzalez, 6, and Gwendolyn Gonzalez, 2, killed in collision with tow truck on Interstate 65 in Bonnieville, Kentucky

Police say a preliminary investigation found that Augustin M. Gonzalez, 36, of Cary, was traveling south when he apparently failed to see that a tow truck had stopped partially in the travel lanes to assist a vehicle involved in an earlier crash.

A Duke grad and Army major along with two of his children died in a crash on Interstate 65.
