Woman injured after being struck by car in parking lot of Richmond Kroger

Richmond police were investigating after an elderly woman was struck by a car in the Kroger parking lot. A witness told WKYT the woman was hit by another driver who was backing up in the parking lot when she struck that woman, pinning her between her car and a sport utility vehicle. The woman who was hit was conscious when she was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. The driver also was taken to the hospital because of her health conditions, Thornton said. Karen Thornton, a Kroger spokeswoman, said the customer, who had been shopping with her daughter, was putting her cart away when the driver backed into her.
