The vehicle went down a steep embankment, eventually hitting a tree.
According to Kentucky State Police, a car driven by Andrew Vaughn veered off Interstate 71 in Carroll County and traveled down a steep embankment. A passenger in the car, Charles Coburn, 58, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash was reported at 8:47 p.m. Vaughn was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries. Both men were wearing seat belts.
