An unknown man driving a 1999 Ford F-150 pickup truck was killed when his southbound pickup crossed the centerline of a state highway, sideswiped a northbound car and then collided head-on with a northbound SUV, a news release from the agency said.
The drivers of the car that was sideswiped and the SUV that was hit head-on, as well as six passengers in the SUV, received minor to moderate injuries.
The crash happened shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday on Louisiana 37, north of Central Thruway, in East Baton Rouge Parish, State Police said. The pickup crossed the center line "for reasons still under investigation," the agency said.
