Keith Broussard, 67, killed in pedestrian collision with hit-and-run driver on First Avenue in Lake Charles, Louisiana

Police looking for driver involved in hit-and-run Lake Charles police are searching for the driver of a truck involved in a fatal hit-and-run Thursday, officials said. Kraus said a witness saw the crash but didn’t know anyone had been hit. When she returned home, Kraus said, she saw the police units and learned that Broussard, her neighbor, had been hit by the truck. Deputy Chief Mark Kraus said the incident took place just after 6 p.m. in the 3000 block of First Avenue. He said the witness described seeing a vehicle — later identified as a new-model, silver four-door truck — headed north on First Avenue hit an object in the roadway and not stop.
