Head-on crash kills Kentwood man, 59, in north Tangipahoa Parish
The wreck occurred about 7:30 p.m. when a westbound 2014 GMC Sierra driven by Matthew Jacob Peek of Kentwood crossed into the eastbound lane for reasons that were not immediately clear. Williams, eastbound in a 1996 Dodge 3500, tried to avoid the Sierra by driving onto the right shoulder, but his vehicle was nonetheless struck head-on by Peek's vehicle, State Police said.
