Investigators suspect speeding and impairment are the reasons behind a crash that killed a Folsom man early Friday morning in Covington.
Folsom man killed in St. Tammany car crash early Friday, State Police say
Firefighters and EMS crews from St. Tammany Fire District 12 arrived two minutes after they were dispatched, the fire district said. Firefighters removed the roof from the vehicle to gain access to the victim.
Lloyd Giddens was driving north on Louisiana Highway 25 at about 2:15 a.m. when he veered to the left from unknown reason and traveled off the road. Then he overcorrected to the right and lost control. The car begans rolling and struck two large trees. He suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead ath the scene. Fire crews had to remove the roof of the vehicle to extract Giddens. Investigators suspect impairment as a factor in the accident.
