The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office has identified the pedestrian killed Tuesday morning (March 11) as Desiree Felton, 56, of Harvey.

A female is dead after being hit by a pick-up truck while she tried to cross Manhattan Boulevard in Harvey, Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office said.
A female is dead after being hit by a pick-up truck while she tried to cross Manhattan Boulevard in Harvey, Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office said. The fatal wreck happened around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of Manhattan.
JPSO said the pedestrian, later identified as Desiree Felton, 56, was pronounced dead on the scene. No more information was provided about the female or the pick-up truck driver. JPSO did not say if any citations were issued or arrests made in connection with the fatality.
The northbound lanes of Manhattan Boulevard were closed as part of the investigation but reopened around 8 a.m.
