The Orleans Parish Coroner will release the victim’s name and will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Early Monday morning, a 24-year-old man was driving on eastbound I-610 when he lost control of his black Acura and struck a cement guardrail before stopping in a travel lane near St. Bernard Avenue. The man and his passengers were exiting the vehicle when the driver was struck by an SUV. No one else was hurt, including the 34-year-old driver of the SUV. Check back for updates.
