Tractor trailer crosses I-95 median, kills woman in SUV

Police say a woman died in a collision on the Maine Turnpike in Kittery when a tractor trailer crashed through guardrails, crossed a median and hit her vehicle head on.

59-year-old Christine Anderson of Smithfield, Rhode Island, was driving the SUV. Anderson died instantly.

Investigators will interview the truck driver and examine the truck for possible mechanical malfunctions.
The truck involved in the accident was carrying paper products. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
