North Berwick crash kills driver

A man died Wednesday morning when the pickup truck he was driving crashed on Linscott Hill Road. Police did not release the man's name because his relatives had not been notified. Police said the crash happened around 10:30 a.m. The road was closed for several hours while police investigated. Police said the truck left the road and hit an embankment.

“We don’t know why (the truck) went off the road at this point,” Peasley said.

Crash that killed North Berwick man puzzles police

“He basically, for some unknown reason, drove across the road and off the opposite side,” Peasley said. “There were no skid marks or other marks to show he was avoiding something.”
There were no witnesses to the crash. According to police, a dog inside the pickup truck survived and was turned over to an animal control officer. Authorities are still unsure of what caused the crash.
